Greg Gianforte

CEO at RightNow Technologies

By Dave Duffield

Greg and I share a passion for customers. A few years ago, Greg saw the opportunity to help companies use the Web to forge deeper relationships with their customers. He turned that opportunity into Right Now Technologies, one of the world’s most successful on-demand CRM organizations. His love for the natural beauty of Big Sky Country led him to headquarter his company in Bozeman, Montana, a unique location for one of the most unique organizations in the tech industry, with a strong culture of excellence and exceptional customer service.

A serial entrepreneur, Greg built and sold four companies before RightNow. He has authored two books: Bootstrapping Your Business and Eight to Great: Eight Steps to Delivering a Superior Customer Experience. And Greg continues to re-invest in his community. He founded Bootstrap Montana, a program that creates jobs in rural communities by supporting local entrepreneurs who embrace bootstrapping–growing a company without the aid of outside (equity) investment capital. It is no surprise that in 2003 Greg was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year and, in 2007, he was inducted into the CRM Hall of Fame.

David Duffield was the Founder of Peoplesoft and is Co-Founder & CEO of Workday
